This popped up on ye ol’ interwebz a week or so ago. It’s a good-lookin’ video for “It Goes,” a bluesy, upbeat track off local Celtic-leaning chamber-folk duo Hilst & Coffey‘s 2012 album “The Lonely Grange Sessions.”
The man behind the camera is Tim Cash of Bend-based FARfromEARTH Films. The setting is the Crooked River Gorge. The song is cool. Enjoy.
Also, OPB Radio recently did a story on MoWo, aka Jason Graham, which you can listen to by clicking here. (Full disclosure: I was interviewed for the story and they used a couple of my comments.)
–Laurel Brauns — former Bendite and current Portlander who still plays here often (she’ll be at portello winecafe on Jan. 21) — released a video for the song “Kaleidoscope Eyes” from her 2011 album “House of Snow” (one of my favorite local releases of the year). It was shot by Bend’s FAR from EARTH Films at Dillon Falls. Enjoy!
–Last but not least, local dance-rock band All You All put out its first EP, called “Fluorescence,” right around the turn of the year. I’m still letting this one sink in, but I definitely hear a little Modest Mouse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Denim and White Stripes in the band’s urgent, bouncy sound. Check the EP out below!
Tim Cash from FARfromEARTH Films just sent over this easy, breezy clip for “Sunshine” by JoAnna Lee, a catchy song that perfectly encapsulates the local singer-songwriter’s knack for a pleasing pop melody.
Bummer for Central Oregon: Lee’s packing up that knack (and all her other stuff) and making the move to Austin, Texas to try to make music her career. I hope to have more on her here on Frequency next week, so stay tuned for that.
This just came across the world-wide intertubes from Tim Cash of Bend’s FARfromEARTH Films: Check out the brand new, sharp-lookin’ video for Bend-based roots/blues singer-songwriter Leif James‘ tune “Here I Go,” filmed yesterday at Leif’s house.
