This slipped by me last week and it didn’t make Friday’s GO! Magazine. But it looks fun and the poster is cool. High-quality, catchy punk rock courtesy The Secretions and Bastards of Young (both from Sacramento) and always excellent local dudes Tuck and Roll. Dunno what the cover is, but I’d bet it’s either free or cheap enough. Be there! (“There” = Mountain’s Edge = old Timbers South across from the outlet shops.)

Bend’s live-music scene should be hoppin’ tonight with the big Supersuckers show at the Domino Room, Sisters singer-songwriter Brent Alan and His Funky Friends holding down the free show at McMenamins Old St. Francis School, the Pink Floyd tribute band House of Floyd at the Tower Theatre, and more.
As if that isn’t enough, Silver Moon Brewing added a show for tonight at the last minute, featuring the mellow NorCal pop of Baki, who sounds like a cross between Jack Johnson and Everlast. Opening the show is one of my favorite local hip-hop acts, Mindscape. This’ll be a nice option tonight if you’re looking for something a little less ear-splitting and a little more beat-oriented. It’s also one of the first shows for Silver Moon booking queen Cassie Moore’s new company LOUDgirl Productions (more info here), so you should go and show your support. The details:

This show was announced too late to get much play in last week’s GO! Magazine, but it oughta be a wicked good time. Longtime local DJ Moksha will open (and close) the night with some of the “weirdest, heaviest, least accessible” records in his crate, and Warm Gadget will provide the meat in this electro-thrash sandwich with its raunchy, digital stoner metal. Follow the details below for maximum fun.

You won’t find this in today’s GO! Magazine, because … well, I blew it. Plus, I didn’t know all the details. But whatever, this looks like a super-fun time: Local DJs, bPollen and Calicoleaf will provide some “soothing digital and analog soundwave massage” fer yer gray matter at 7 p.m. tonight at Top Leaf Mate Bar, which is located at 869 N.W. Tin Pan Alley, just off Minnesota Avenue between Thump Coffee and The Wine Shop / PoetHouse Art.
For a $3 suggested donation, you get a heaping helping of chilled out, eclectic beats mixed with globally inspired samples and sounds that should make for an excellent evening of slow-motion head-bobbing. You can hear some of Calicoleaf’s work right here. He says “Deep Radio,” “Cloud Keeper,” “In The Gardens” and “Spheres of Kannos” will give you a good taste of what he’s been up to recently.
You should go check this out.

Go see your local wrecked-rock dealers Problem Stick tomorrow night at Silver Moon, OK? With a cool flyer like this, they deserve your patronage. (Please note: The show will start around 8 p.m., not 9 p.m.)

I haven’t added anything to our archive of flyers and posters lately, but I can’t resist these two.
First up, Friday night at Players, a couple of local metal bands:

Second, The JZ Band is playing at Silver Moon Saturday:
I’d pay one hundred American dollars to watch these two engage in a dance-off.

From last week’s GO! Magazine:
Sword swallowers. Fire eaters. Burlesque performers. Stage magic. Hobo poetry. It’s vaudeville meets rock ’n’ roll. It’s the Yard Dogs Road Show.
And it’s hard to believe it’s been three years since the Dogs — a dozen members strong, and based out of California’s Bay Area — brought their rolling creative wonderland to Bend. It has, though, and the group remains committed, according to its bio, to leading “the modern hobohemian on a visual and sonic journey through part of history that may or may not have existed — followed by an ambitious return to the emotional challenges of our punch-drunk contemporary world.”
The Dogs place a heavy emphasis on blending facets of the old world with modern pop culture in a way that, at least for a couple hours, will provide a welcome respite from your real life.
In case you can’t read the poster below, the show starts at 9 p.m., doors open at 8, and it’s $20 in advance (outlets here) and $25 at the door.
