The South Carolina jAmericana trio — that’s jam-band + Americana, I just made that up — Dangermuffin starts its three-night run at McMenamins Old St. Francis School in Bend tonight. The shows are at 7 p.m., and they’re free.
As jAmericana (I like it!) bands go, this one’s pretty cool; in last week’s GO! Magazine, I said Dangermuffin “travels an orbit somewhere between Great American Taxi, Ryan Adams and Widespread Panic.” Does that make sense? I have no idea, but rest assured, these guys know how to wrap a catchy melody in relaxed Southern style. Click here to read the rest of my piece about them.
And click below to download or stream a couple of songs from their new album “Moonscapes.” The title track is a little space-jammier, while “Walk Into The Wind” is so down-home rootsy, it’d fit in nicely on one of the first two Wilco records.
