Hello? Oh … hi there! Hi. I’m Ben, and I run a blog about music. It might’ve been hard to tell over the past couple days; it’s been pretty quiet around here. Sorry about that. I’ve been very busy avoiding giant descending set pieces and putting out GO! Magazine. Speaking of which, today’s issue contains … that’s right … articles about music! You know, maybe to make up for the lack of posts over the past couple days, I should tell you about them, eh?
-Bend’s community radio station, KPOV, is celebrating its fourth birthday by gathering a bunch of local musicians and holding a Beatles Singalong. Click here to read all about it and check out our “Abbey Road” album cover re-creation with some of the organizers.
-Hailstorms? What hailstorms? Summer is just around the corner, and summer music series are cranking up. Get all the details on the Summer Sunday concerts at Les Schwab Amphitheater, a whole bunch of shows at Angeline’s Bakery in Sisters, the new Music in the Canyon series in Redmond, and weekend music at Elk Lake Resort. Now that’s covering all of Central Oregon.
-Larry and His Flask is heading out on tour and playing a send-off show before they leave. Find out where and when and who else is on the bill here.
-The Summit Saloon & Stage has a very busy week planned, with Dirty Penny, Indubious and National Theatre Project slated to play. Details here.
-More music to check out: Rapper Freddie Gibbs at the Domino Room, The Erins and their friends Ugly Purple Sweater team up for a show, and Mirf the Bing headlines a benefit concert.
If you’re a subscriber to The Bulletin’s Web site, you’ll be able to see all those. If you’re not, you won’t, and you’ll either need to subscribe or pick up the print version of the paper.
